The Catalunya Europa Foundation has resolved the call for the Pasqual Maragall Legacy Awards 2024, with the aim of recognizing and promoting academic works that help preserve the academic, political or intellectual legacy of Pasqual Maragall. In this edition, prizes were awarded in three categories:
Legacy Category: It has been awarded to "Articulating sovereignties: new forms of multi-scalar governance for the great challenges of today's society", presented by Marc Parés Franzi. The jury highlighted the originality of the conceptual and analytical approach, as well as the relevance of the subject in current politics. The award in the legacy category has an endowment of 4,000 euros intended to help develop research in the twelve months following the awarding of the award.
Best final Master's thesis: Magda Ennaji Térmens has received the award for her thesis "Analysis of the Pact on Migration and Asylum of the EU". The jury valued his global and reflective vision on a topical issue, as well as the originality of the analysis of the different actors involved. The TFM prize is endowed with 1,000 euros.
Best final thesis: Paula Niño Sánchez has been awarded the prize for "The UN's Sustainable Development Goal 16 in Sweden: The European Union's Twin Transitions' Impacts on Sami Reindeer Herders' Land Rights". The jury emphasized that the work addresses issues of great global and European relevance, such as sustainability and ethnic and territorial conflicts.The TFG award is endowed with 1,000 euros.
