Today Pasqual Maragall celebrates his 84th birthday

Pasqual Maragall, founder and honorary patron of the Fundació Catalunya Europa, is an essential reference for his career and for his ideas and values. Today, January 13, 2024, we celebrate his 84th birthday!

Pasqual Maragall i Mira was mayor of Barcelona from 1982 to 1997 and president of the Generalitat de Catalunya from 2003 to 2006. His vision of cities, of a Catalonia with its own voice in a federal Spain and of a stronger and closer Europe, are the driving force behind our action.

At the Foundation, we work to update and disseminate his legacy, which continues to be a key contribution to facing the challenges of our time. Through the Pasqual Maragall Legacy project, we promote research and reflection programs on his action and political thought, analyzing and interpreting his contributions in a broad sense. His legacy is not just a memory of the past to commemorate, but a guide to the future to explore.

If you want to learn more about his legacy, we invite you to explore the Pasqual Maragall Digital Archive and its interactive timeline, an open door to his thought and his political and academic contributions. Explore the digital archive.

Thank you, Pasqual, and happy birthday!
