80 years of life are difficult to synthesize. In the case of Pasqual Maragall, there is the difficulty that his personal memory is severely damaged by Alzheimer's disease. A year ago, the FCE published the Pasqual Maragall Digital Archive (ADPM), which responds to the will expressed by Maragall himself to transmit his experience to all citizens, especially in the public sphere, so that it can be useful in the construction of the present and the future. His experience has been reflected in part in the documentary collections that have been generated around his public and private activity.
In 2011, the Fundació Catalunya Europa was commissioned by Maragall and his family to deal with this political and documentary legacy. In 2012 he presented the program to carry out the analysis and dissemination of his experience, the program Llegat Pasqual Maragall.
The main documentary collections generated around the activity of Pasqual Maragall are the one generated as Mayor of Barcelona, the one that arose from the exercise of the Presidency of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the one produced from his personal activity (from activities from the private side to those related to political organizations, etc.).
Each of the funds is deposited in the Municipal Archive of Barcelona (Mayor), in the National Archive of Catalonia (President) and between the ANC and its family home, the personal one.
The ADPM wants to offer a single access point and become the main reference point in relation to Pasqual Maragall. At the documentary level, it contains, in collaboration with the archival centers that keep the originals, digital copies of the original and narrative documents or interpretative documents about his life and work arising from the activities of the Llegat Pasqual Maragall program itself.
The Archive also offers a digital chronology that allows us to trace these 80 years of life.
