Second part of the report on social progress in the Girona Demarcation

Cross-border cooperation in European space as a mechanism for social progress

"Cross-border cooperation in European space as a mechanism for social progress" is a study that was commissioned by the Diputació de Girona, and seeks to answer, on the one hand, whether it is possible to turn GDP into social progress or the extent to which other aspects hinder and, thus, condition the social progress of a place.

On the other hand, it will try to explain why the regions of Languedoc-Roussillon and the Eastern Pyrenees seem to stand out better in terms of social progress than Catalonia and the province of Girona, investigating whether the SPI in the aforementioned French regions are also influenced by a demographic factor and comparing the productive structure of the market to the two regions.

Finally, a comparison between cross-border spaces will also be made, analyzing in depth the EU-SPI to twelve chosen territorial cooperation groups
